Florida Blue collaborates with Prime Therapeutics (Prime) to assist members in managing their prescription drugs. Prime offers an easy-to-use online platform called MyPrime, where members can look up medications, find less expensive options, and see which drugs require pre-approval based on their health plan. Effective June 1, 2024, Prime Therapeutics launched enhanced digital features on MyPrime.com.
New Features on MyPrime.com
The new Coverage Request Tracker and improved Cost Estimator features will help members better understand and manage their pharmacy coverage:
Estimating Drug Costs in MyPrime
This feature allows members to easily find the cost of a prescription drug at their favorite local pharmacy or compare the cost at another pharmacy across town. This helps members save money and choose the best place to get their prescription.
Coverage Request Tracker
This new pre-approval simplifier allows members to get the status of drug prior authorization requests and exceptions, step therapy, quantity limits, and more. The goals are to reassure members that their coverage request has been received, fill information gaps with timely status updates, and provide prompt delivery of coverage decisions. According to Prime, 44% of calls they receive are related to prescription costs, and another 40% are related to prior authorizations.
Accessing MyPrime Features
Florida Blue and Truli for Health members can view these features on their MyPrime account by doing one of the following:
- Downloading the MyPrime app from the Apple Store or Google Play.
- Logging into their member account. After logging in, members can go to My Plan > Pharmacy Resources and then click on “Compare Drug Prices.” This will take them to MyPrime.
